Team Twilight or Vampires

So.. I come to the Twilight saga....

Before Twilight, one vampire fan would, most likely, be defined as an "emo" or "goth".
I, however, have appreciated the beauty of these "fictional" creatures since I was very young.

From watching REAL vampire films, from Hammer horror's lively coloured "Scars of Dracula" (Baker, 1970) featuring the almighty legend, Christopher Lee to the beautiful Swedish tale of Eli and Oscar in "Let The Right One In" (Alfredson, 2008), Twilight came as one giant slap in the vampire reputation's face!

I have read the books and, as much as it pains me to say it, I quite enjoyed them. However, it's story and themes, when stripped down, that are simply mormonism beliefs, which is in fact genius of the author, who is a mormon herself, but it's "teen-bop" romance and characteristics and physical appearance of the vampires is an insult to the vampire traditions.
I am, of course, mainly referring to the fact that the vampires sparkle in the sunlight.

The films are, on top of all of this, disgraceful pieces of trash. They have been edited, shot, storyboarded, scripted and cast appaulingly.
All-in-all then, a disaster. In my opinion, they were rushed and not properly thought through.

But tell me what you think... Team Twilight or Team Vampire?

Begin the blogging

Evening readers (or so it is in my little town in the UK).
My name is Emma, or, ‘whatsername’.
I started this blog because my ambition is to become a music video and/or film director. But a job in some form of the media would be fantastic.
A blog is a good place to start; a place to start sharing my film ideas and thoughts.
I would be extremely grateful to readers’ thoughts on my ideas and, even, advise on what I could do to get in to the media, or just to improve my ideas.
